Travel Site - Kayak - Glimpse of the Future

Kayak's search results seem to be very thorough and happen quickly. Or do they? Actually, without doing an exhaustive comparison with other major travel sites, it's hard to know - but what's really cool about Kayak is its Web 2.0 feel. Go ahead - try a flight search and watch the way the page transforms as the data collects before your eyes. Watch the ticker spell out the airlines and travel outlet sources one-by-one is they are searched. There is a lot going on here: but it all seems so simple. That simplicity is gorgeous. So gorgeous and cool that I really don't care if it is that much faster than the big boys, at least I'm not staring at some boring splash screen while I'm waiting. I'll be trying out Kayak on my next few trips to see how good the search engine really is and will post my results in the future.
